hey guys im brand new to this forum. i have a '00 Expedition Eddie Bauer w the 5.4 V8. I changed the oil just a few days ago and accidently drained my tranny fluid instead of oil pan. call me a retard but it was cold and dark. needless to say, the next day i realized this, correctly changed the oil and the started on the transmission. I was flushing the transmission fluid and unknowingly overfilled it. the manual says its a 15.5L fill capacity and I put in 4x 3.78L bottles of Pennzoil Transmission Fluid. Now (half hour later) there's tons of tranny fluid all over my driveway even though the filler tube never overflowed. The manual says that if an overfill occurs, a qualified technician should remove the excess fluid.

is there any way i can fix this myself???

You can get some of it out the same way you got it out the first time. You must have a drain plug in your tranny so, loosen it, let some drain and then put the plug back in. Start the vehicle and run it through the gears and check the level, add or drain as necessary. PS use a CLEAN catch pan so you can put some back , if necessary.
This is going to be MESSY, but a whole lot cheaper than a shop.
If you don't want a mess go to a shop or dealership and give them your $$.

The extra fluid probably came out the vent. You can try the drain plug routine or get yourself a suction pump and 1/4' diameter poly tubing. Stick the tubing down the fill tube and suck it out with the pump until you get to the proper level. One thing is sure, DO NOT DRIVE this until you get the proper level. Excess fluid creates foam and foam does not cool or lubricate well. You can torch a tranny by driving it this way.
