alright my moms 01 Expedition with the 4.6 likes to spit out blue smoke at the first initial startup every day, but after that one start up it doesnt do it after other start ups? why is it doing this? adn I know that blue smoke means oil burn off I believe (feel free to correct me). but it only blows out a light blue cloud and its not a lot and then it jsut clears out, Ive noticed this on my 04 Ranger as well but not as much and you can barely tell its blue or even a cloud of smoke.... is all this typical of Fords or what?

This can be considered "Normal" on higher mileage engines and I have even seen this issue on engines with lower mileage.

Small amounts of oil can seep through valve seals and other places and rest in the cylinders. When you start it up, the oil burns right out and that is all you will see until the next "Cold Soak".

I would not worry about it unless it starts smoking all the time.
