We have the built in 6 CD changer in our truck. Recently it would not play any of the CD's that we put in it. It gives and error on the front of the radio that says "Bad Disc". I have tried lots of different CD's and they all come up wit this error in all 6 slots.

Anyone ever see this before? How do I fix this? THANKS.

I work at a Ford dealer and we get vehicles with the 6-disc changers in almost daily!

They are scrap! If you are out of warranty, then get an aftermarket stereo put in.

If I put in the aftermarket radio, how does this affect the rear stereo controls? I assume they are just dead and not functional anymore?

They will not function, but if you get a good enough sound system in that, then you will not hear the people in the back complain :)
