Let me say what a great wealth of info here. Awsome. Two questions:
1) Remotes stopped working suddenly, keypad still works. I checked all the fuses, nothing pertaining was blown. I tried a trick I read, Ignition on/off like 5 times or so, to put in learning mode, didn't get it to work. Help please. (batteries replaced in both remotes)
2) Dusk sensor, to automatically turn on lights at night/dusk again, suddenly stopped working.
A couple of questions for you.
What programming sequence did you use?
Did it go into programming mode when you tried it?
(programing is the same whether it is a four or five button remote)
Does the electric locks work fine otherwise?
Have you checked all fuses including the power distribution box?
(Believe it or not, sometimes more than one fuse is used.)
Did both remotes stop working at the same time?
If the vehicle goes into programing mode, all remotes must be done at the same time.
Sequence:
Turned on till all the dash lights came on, then off/on like 4 or 5 times, but locks never did anything, was no sign of learning mode. (last position was the "on" position.)
Yes, painfully checked all fuses inside car. Not sure of what you mean by other fuse.
Yes, both stopped working at sametime..
Yes, locks work from inside car..and keypad as well.
Cycle the key 8 times within 10 seconds, ending in the on position. (do not turn the key far enough for the starter to engage) Locks should cycle, press any button on first remote, locks should cycle, press any button on second remote, locks should cycle. Can be done for up to 4 remotes.
Let us know if this works.
Locks cycled, but notta when I pressed any button on remote. Locks did cycle though. Bummer..any other thoughts? I bought batteries new, from Wal-Mart. double checked to see if they were installed correctly 2X..
Thanks.
Any thoughts on the Automatic heads lights? they just stopped working too, manual still works, just takes getting used to. I did jump start a car a couple weeks ago, pretty sure the remotes weren't working prior to that though.
Headlights- may be the module for the DRL'S, I think it's locatednear the grille/bumper area.
FOB- I'm not sure, but it seems if the locks cycle fine, remotes may be the problem. Instructions I have says that if the locks don't cycle when you try to program, wait a few seconds and press button again. I have a way to test remotes, but you would have to mail one to me to check. Call some lock shops and see if the have a tester that will test remotes.
