Question 03 Nav Electrical issues

I am looking for some help with issues that just started with my 03 Navigator. It started with the remote locking. When I pressed the lock button on the remote the Illuminated entry (interior lights and mirror lights) do not go out within the 30 seconds. The Memory feature and Easy exit seat is not working until I cycle the ignition switch on and off, sometimes more than once. The rear lift gate only works manually until I cycle ignition as well.
One other thing I noticed while testing the remote from inside the truck is that there a loud popping sound from the rear subwoofer when the locks engage. The navigator has not been altered in any way since new.

Re: 03 Nav Electrical issues

Out of curiosity, has the popping always happened with the locks?

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

No it started with all these other issues. It's loud enough to hear from outside the truck when standing next to the drivers door. Pulled some fuses last night and the sound is coming from the Subwoofer.

Looking at the schematics, I'd suspect the vehicle security module, but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it. The other possibility might be an errant ground.

Re: 03 Nav Electrical issues

After pulling every fuse and relay to verify their operation I gave up. I disabled all of the functions via the setup menu and prepared to trade the Nav in over the weekend. As I went to button up all of the kick panels I made sure every connection going to the modules and the fuse box were snapped in tightly. The next morning Sunday everything was back to normal.
Looks like something had come loose or wasn't making proper contact. Regardless she seems to be working fine. BTW just noticed my typo the Navigator is a 2004 not a 03. With a little luck and maintenance she will be good for another 92,000 miles.

Thank you,
Leo
