05 Expedition Ed Bauer (CD's Stuck inside dash unit)

Hello all, I have a question regarding the factory radio with in-dash CD changer.
About a week ago my wife was attempting to change her CD's and noticed that they were 'stuck' inside the unit. Also, that same day the speakers went out in the truck. The unit has a rear-seat entertainment system and that is working fine with the exception of the speakers throughout the inside are no longer operating. Any idea what would cause this? Could it be something as simple as replacing a fuse? If so I can probably do that myself. Or could it be that the head-unit is defective and needs replacing?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Try unhooking the battery for 5 min. and see if that helps.

Sorry for the late reply:

I used to have a Mustang with a 6 CD Changer in the dash, and about once a year it would freeze with the cds in it.

The Ford dealer would take it out, and send it in. I'd get a new head unit about a week later, and my cds would come in a couple of weeks later.

one thing I hate about CD changers...one miss alignment and its done.
Anyway, if you can pull out the unit and pry it open you can retrieve it. Pry just enough until the clips pops open-you will need to work your way around the unit. the metal is soft so take great care. I've done it may times on other units-90% of these units are held in by tension.---don't try it if you are iffy.
Just my 2 cents.
