05 Expedition squealing

I just bought an 05 Expedition and it has a very high pitched, but fairly quiet, squealing. It sounds much higher pitched than any belt squealing I've ever heard. It only does it (so far) at a couple of speeds (somewhere between 55-60 and 65-70). Usually it is only for a brief period of time, and I've also noticed that it usually quits when I let off the gas. I think it only does it when I am maintaining speed, not accelerating or slowing down. It does not do it at idle. Any ideas?

Re: 05 Expedition squealing

It sounds like the belt or one of the pulleys. Have you tried running the engine speed up to the same RPM when in park, to see if you can duplicate it? If the engine is cold, you could take the belt off and run it again very briefly to see if it goes away. Then spin the pulleys to pinpoint the problem. That's if it does it setting still.
