hi all
i have a 05 ford expedition with 129,000 miles, 5.4L engine changed plugs at 85,000 miles, i have a cyl #1 misfire when pulling my 6x10 enclosed cargo trailer. flashing Check Engine light, suv very sluggish. was on my way out of town friday pulling trailer, got most of the way to where i was going bout 2 hours away, truck starts running really ruff and check engine light starts flashing, i found nearest repair shop and pulled. they ordered new coil, replaced, drove same issue. new spark plug, same issue. put different coil on it from cyl 5 with new plug. cyl 1 misfire. replaced with old plug and old coil, pulled injector off, beat it on table a few times to see if something was clogged in it, nothing came out. put back on same issue. took trailer off and went for test drive no issues. i had a friend come pick up my trailer and i drove home 2 hours with the truck, check engine light came on bout 30 mins into the drive home, but never flashed and the truck never acted like it misfired again the rest of the way home. drove truck a little around town today, no problems, and check engine light went out. im stumped and so was the repair shop. they spent 6+ hours trying to get something to work and nothing they could figure did. checked voltage and ohms on the injectors, and pattern on meter was good. any suggestions or any ideas??? i really need some help.
