1998 Lincoln Navigator dash lights, speedometer and trans acting up..
I just went to yahoo answers with this earlier...(Not much help) So I just pasted what I typed there previously.
I have a 1998 Lincoln Navigator with about 150k miles on it, and today it decided to act out on me. It started off with all of the lights in the dashboard powering on like it does when I start up the vehicle except this happened while the vehicle was on and in drive. The Check Engine indicator and the Air Bag indicator lights remain on. The speedometer isn't reading my speed and then the transmission is shifting sluggish, loud and rough making quite the sound with out actually accelerating at all. When I take the key out of the ignition the a/c fan powers on while the rest of the vehicle remains off... This is the strangest issue yet.
I disconnected the battery for a while hoping that will reset the onboard cpu sensors. It sometimes solves my a/c problem, but the car still shifts rough, the dash indicator lights are still on, and the speedometer doesn't read. Is this an electrical problem? Is the cpu/sensor shot? is it my battery!? I'm so confused.
