1999 and 2003 Expy Owner Just Joined.
Hello Fellow Expy owners!!
I'm an E36, and E46 BMW fanatic and just found this website. I have had good experience with our old 1999 Expy xlt, leather, 5.4L, etc, but unfortunately just traded her this weekend for a newer 2003 Expy XLT, 5.4L, leather, moonroof, etc..
Wow, what a difference in the driving and power difference from the 99 to 03!
I am still a little sad that the old car is gone, especially after I just used the extended warranty to have $2.5K in mechanical work done. I could see the trade in guy kind of grin when he noticed all the new stuff on the front end suspension (ball joints, control arms, pitman arms, etc. etc...not to mention the new altenator and a few other goodies).
What was really a poor gesture on behalf of the dealership was they said the tires were no god and that they were going to deduct $500 off the trade in value of $7250. I just smirked at them and said that I knew the tires were bad. The dealer then said that I would be welcome to put new tires on if I wanted to get to $7250. Whatever, I finally agreed to $7200 and put a deposit on the 03.
My wife's truck was worth more retail, but I wanted to buy the 03 they had on the lot because I spoke to the prior (1 owner) and the truck was mint. I also talked with every shop that had done work on the new truck in the past.
This is a 3 year lease Expy with 48K. The old owner had a 15K/3 year lease and he said he went over a little. The mileage checks out with his story, and the story of all the maintence records.
I am psyched when I picked up the truck, after about $500 in new rotors, pads 1 plug and coil (cop). The truck runs soooo nice.
My wife is calling me to give 2 of my 3 daughters a bath, I'll be back soon..
