1999 EXPY multiple issues
I have a 1999 Expy with 150,000 Eddie Baur 5.4 litre engine AWD. I am starting to have some problems with truck and need your help. In the past month I have done ball joints, tie rods and altenator. The truck does have the load leveling system in it, but the compressor blew and now I fill up using the Spider Jr from American Air Suspension. I am sure a lot of you know about this product.
OK, so I am assuming that even though I have the load leveling suspension that there are shocks that need to be replaced, is this correct? The front is seeming a little bouncy when I hit a pot hole or bumpy road. Would this be just a regular shock for my make and model or do I have to get something special?
The second problem is that I am having issues with the drivetrain, now wether it is the tranny, transfercase or differential....I have no idea. I never owned one that went bad. When the vehicle is cold the problem is about 90% gone but it seems as soon as things start to warm up, the clunking starts. It occurs when the engine is under torque and accelerating and then when slowing down again. It is really I do a lot of expressway driving so once I up to speed it is fine. I know I have to take it in but I just dont want someone to tell me I need a new tranny when all I need is new fluids and such. Any ideas?
