Question 1999 Navigator Transmission trouble

Hello,

A while back I had driven on the freeway about 70-80 mph in second gear for about 5 miles. Not on purpose.

When I realized it I shifted to drive.

Later I noticed when I am driving and take my foot off the gas the RPM will go from like 2500 to 1000. Like it is going into neutral.

When I step on the gas it goes back up to 2500 then drives on?

What do I need to look at to fix it?

Thank you

Buddy

Check fluid colour/condition , you may have " cooked " it , requiring replacing.
