2000 Expedition...Idle problems

Hi,

Went to start my car the other day after being at work all day and it "turned over" just cut right off as if the gas stopped going to the carb. (do I sound like I know what I am talking about) After about 4 tries, it cranks and holds idles fine and I am off and running...

Today same thing (it didnt do it all weekend or any other time). It cranked this morning (so much for the cold start theory), then I went to work, got ready to leave for an appointment and it did it again...This time it was stubborn...would not idle and stay running, so I held it...yup, I did...after about 2 minutes of lightly holding the gas peddle, I let up and the idle was fine...While I was holding the gas pedal I could see the RPM gauge sort of "struggling" to make the car "catch on to what it is suppose to do"....

It seems that cold starts are the problem....

Any ideas, I am taking it to the dealer this on Thursday...praying for a start and no problems, tomorrow...til I can get there...Thanks

Re: 2000 Expedition...Idle problems

Could be any number of things.

1. Fuel Pump going bad
2. Clogged fuel line
3. iac going out
4. the gasket underneath IAC going bad

There are others, but without getting a scanner on it and checking for any codes it is a little more difficult to determine the root cause.
