2001 Exp EB Wont idle - Ford Forums

Anyone know what may cause my car to not idle? Once I let it run for about 10 minutes it's fine. Trying to see if the propblem happens after it's raining, but not enough data to correlate yet. It rained last night, and the car wont idle. Same problem happened about 10 days ago. It rained then too. Is there something that needs replaced that would normally seal out water and moisture?

usually an idle problem is caused by the idle air control valve or the stator and module.
if you have the idle problem occuring try restarting it and just slightly give a little throttle if it idles fine once you get above 1000 rpm than more than likely it is the IAC.
if it stalls out even while throttleing then i would look for a possibly cracked module which can be affected by temp or moisture.
if this is the case replace both the module and stator as a pair.
