2001 Expedition 4.6 door lock problem - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I've read a couple of threads and haven't found the answer yet, so I apologize if it has already been posted. My wife's expeidition will lock all doors will all locations of the power locks, however it will only unlock using the remote key. I haven't began the trouble shooting procces yet and wanted to check here to save some time and money. Where do you think I should start?

Are you saying it will open with the remote, but will not unlock all the doors when you turn the driver door key and hold it?

I havent tried the key in the door to see if it unlocks, we just use the remote to unlock. What I''m saying is, once you are in the car and are driving and the doors auto lock, the only way to unlock the doors is to turn off the ignition and use the remote to unlock. This is really a problem when we take kids to school in the morning and have to either climb to manually unlock the back door, or turn the car off to use the remote. I was hoping somone here has has the same problem and can direct me rather than troubleshooting the whole locking system. Thanks

problem solved. The contacts were bent and not making proper contact
