Question 2003 Expedition EB 4.6L Cuts out when driving?

Hi, Can anyone help or advise me? I have a 2003 Expedition EB with 36,000m on the clock. I was making a trip last week driving around 50mph when the car just cut out on me. I pulled over and restarted the car with no problems - I then carried on with my journey approx 300m with no problems. Today about 1 week and 500m later the car did the same thing again - This time I knocked it into neutral and restarted it with no problems and drove home.

Has this happened to anyone else?
Any suggestions please?

Thanks

Try changing the fuel filter. If it is getting clogged it will starve your engine and kill it. After it quits the crud settles and it will run again.

Re: 2003 Expedition EB 4.6L Cuts out when driving?

I had the same problem. Going along 60 mph and it was like someone reached in and turned the car off. Everything else still worked except the car was off. I would pull it over to the side of the road and it would always restart. It happened 6-7 times and my mechanic could not figure out what was wrong as it didn't throw any codes. He replaced the fuel filter first time...still happened. He replaced the fuel pump...still happened. Finally, when it happened again it wouldn't restart at all and I had it towed to a Ford dealership. Evidently Ford is aware of this problem....it's with the computer... and fixed it in one day. This is what is on the receipt:
"Verified Concern Test and Replaced Central Junction Box." It cost about $500 I hope this helps someone out there because it was driving me crazy.
