2003 Expedition. Steam Cleaned Engine Now It Barely Runs

I thought that I would be proactive and steam clean under the hood and now it sputters, musses and won't hardly run. Also, engine light is on. Any help would be appreciated.

Done all of that. Some say the Coil Pack may need to be replaced and some say replace the spark plugs. Any more ideas?

Get it scanned and see what the codes are, steam cleaning is great for an engine with no electrical parts attached, but it has a tendency of forcing contaminants where they don't belong. Coil packs would be high on the suspect list due to how they're constructed, but there's many other connections that could be affected. A scan could narrow the possible suspect considerably.

Steam cleaning (or spraying directly from a hose nozzle...) coil-on-plug motors is never recommended. Water seeps into the sparkplug wells and shorts out the coil-to-plug contact. You most likely need to pull the coils off and blow out the sparkplug wells with compressed air. Once you have the coils off (it's a biatch...) apply some dielectric grease to the coil boot-to-sparkplug contact area to keep water/moisture from shorting out the ignition in the future.

After doing the above, take it on a GOOD 100mile or so drive to get everything up to operating temp as it's the best way to effectively 'dry' the engine.
