2003 expy eddie bauer 19k miles Condensor gone

I just brought my 03 expy eddie bauer in for ac service. It has 19k miles on it. Low I know we only really use it for long trips. My question is what would cause the condensor to go in such a short time. The shop said there is a leak. Can someone shed some light on this for me. Very angry that this is costing me 800 to fix.

Did the shop say anything about corrosion around the leak? Has the car ever been in an accident? Lastly, since the condenser sits right up front before the radiator, it catches all the road grit and stones. Ask to see the old condenser and have them show you the leaking point. That's the only way you'll find out.
