2003 Ford Expedition problems

New to the board here.....have owned my 03 expedition since brand new. Have had a LOT of problems with it, main one being the rear end. It has had the gear seals replaced 4 times, yet continues to leak. Also had front tie rod replaced twice. Paint bubbling around rear license plate. Vehicle only has 42K miles. Anyone else having problems?

Re: 2003 Ford Expedition problems

Someone that I work with had a 2003 Expedition that she bought brand new. She had the same problem with the rear axle seals. She had it in like 4 times or more before they finally got it fixed.

Also, I've been looking the last week or 2 for a 2003/2004 Expedition and I can tell you that 100% of the Expeditions that I've looked at have paint bubbling somewhere on the rear lift gate, not always in the same place. 1 was around the Ford Logo, one was right above the door handle area and another was just in a few random places on flat surface areas. The 4th one didn't have it happening on the outside of the lift gate, but it was happening on the inside of it.

I've found that Ford has a TSB on this very issue. Luckily, since I'm buying right now, I can make them fix it before I buy it. One place is actually completely replacing the rear lift gate to fix the problem.
