Question 2003 Lincoln Navigator Fuel Injector Problem?

My Navigator is running rough, accelerates very slowly. I cannot bring it on the highway. I can only get it to about 20-40 mph after that it jumps. My check engine light has been on for some time now. It shakes when I am at a stop. The car smells horriblely of gas....very strong.

I brought my car to a mechanic last week and he said it was my fuel injectors. My friend changed fuel injectors one and two. There's a total of eight fuel injectors in the car. So we changed it and low and behold the car is still acting like a pieace of shit. Running rough, smell or gas. The car is going through gas like crazy...$20 a day. $100 a week, just back and forth to work. I had a tune up done in February. I don't think the guy really did a good job.

Could it be something other than my fuel injectors or should I change all eight? It's becoming costly to bring it to a mechanic and get charged every time to look at it but no one knows wtf is wrong with it. I need help. Ideas/Suggestions?! I'm ready to take this car to the river!! Thank you in advance.

If the CEL is on, what are the codes? They'll tell you a lot and make it easier to help you.

Ever notice that there's so many high performance parts available for GM products?

Did you ever think that maybe they NEED them?

Re: 2003 Lincoln Navigator Fuel Injector Problem?

I highly doubt the injectors are the cause. I 'd point toward a crank sensor or fuel pump. As mentioned, scan the codes so as to better pinpoint the problem which the shop should have done in thd first place.
