2004 EXPE Cannot adjust temp on max A/C

Does anyone out there know how to adjust or modify the air conditioning system on my 2004 Expedition so I can adjust the temperature when set on MAX A/C? A call to Ford resulted in them telling me to set the selector to "outside air" and then you can have blended air. Problem is:
1. I live in Arizona and when "outside air" is selected, the 110 degree outside air cannot be cooled enough, so I get warm.
2. On "outside air" I have to breath dust from the ranch roads or else smoke from all the wild fires.

Can you help? Ford says its designed to work this way. My owner's manual says otherwise, but Ford says they revised the owner's manual.

Thanks!

Re: 2004 EXPE Cannot adjust temp on max A/C

You cant modify the temp in Max A/C. Ford looks at it as a way to quickly cool down your car before switching to normal A/C. Although, in normal mode on a very humid day your compressor box on the passenger side front will drip from the condensation, in this case turn on your Max A/C and this this will stop.
