Hello,
we own a 2004 expediton with ca. 45.000 mls. now when it is for service (with change of transmission oil), the mechanics tell us, that there are metal parts in the oil. so he suspect that the transmission is defect. Good luck, there is still warranty on it (byed it at a dealer with "used car warranty").
But we never had an unusual noise or problems with the gears.
had anyone else this problem ?

If there's a warranty on it, you've got it made. Just make sure all complaints are properly logged at the place of service.
