Just got a 2010 expedition. It has one annoying feature...

when you open the door (any door) the turn signal lights, parking lights, license-plate light all come on. The lights will stay on for about 20 seconds (or if the vehicle is started).

I need to disable this feature cuz I work out of the vehicle at night (with it parked and turned off) and need to maintain my dark adaptness (ability to see in the dark).

For example .. .think about going camping w/ the vehicle - at night you wouldnt want it lighting up the campground every time the door/hatch is opened/closed. It would be annoying to other campers.

I did find a "button sequence" (uses the ignition on/off and the "unlock" button) to program this feature on the F150, however it did not (seem to) work on the Expedition.

Anyone have any idea how to disable the approach lights? It seems many late model fords have this feature so I thought there might be a solution.
