I got stuck yesterday pulling a little ranger out in the snow . I have a 98 eb my 4 wheel came out while in 4 low. Now nothing works. When i put it in 4 low a loud popping sound.
I'd check the operation of the shift motor first. It's on the transfer case and is a fairly common failure.
