Question 98 Expedition, Gas niddle does not go all the way to Full or down to empty

I had a family mechanic replaced the fuel tank assembly, butdid not make any difference. Did he not do a good job, or it something diffrent.

If you constantly "top off" your tank after the auto shut off at the pump, it is possible over time to bend the float arm. However, usually this causes erroneous full readings and normal empty readings.
