99 Expedition cranks but won't start - Ford Forums

We have a 99 expedition (V8- 4.6 Liter - 2WD) that will crank but won't start sometimes.
It usually happens after the cars has run a bit then is turned off for 15 to 30 minutes. We try a few times and it cranks but won't turn over. If we let it sit and continue to try it will eventually start. Once it is started it runs fine for about a week or so they it will happen again. And it always starts fine from a cold start....this only happens when the car is warmed up some and is turned off and then restarted within 30 minutes.

We have taken it to the Ford dealership and they could not find any bad codes and the problem of course would not repeat itself when it was there for two days. They have checked the battery and cables, starter etc. They say they can not find the problem if it doesn't not start for them and it is showing no bad codes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated because this only happens once in awhile and is very frustrating. Thanks

Just curious, but have you had a tune up done it lately - with new plugs?
