99 Expedition Cutting Out

I have a 99 Expedition that I purchased from a dealer "No Warranty". The truck drove fine when I test drove the car. The car still drives fine, when the car is in park or stopped at a light the car cuts out. The car does not tremble or anything cray. The car just seems to cut off, you can see the RPM slowly drop until the car cuts out. I took the car to Auto Zone and they would not run diagnostics on the car, becuase it did not say check engine. It did say service engine soon. They checked the battery and alternator , that tested out fine. The car was low on gas, I purchased an Octane booster and Gas stabalizer and filled the tank with 97 Octane. I am not sure what else to do.. Please Help !!!

Re: 99 Expedition Cutting Out

Do you know when the plugs and boots were changed? This engine is known for eating coils. Best way to get a coil to fail is to not replace boots at spark plug replacment time or to get water on them when they're hot. Forgivensinner is also correct that oil can get down the spark plug hole and make life miserable.
