Advise on buying 1998 Expedition - Ford Forums - Mustang Forum, Ford Trucks, Ford Focus and Ford Cars

I am eyeing a 1998 Expedition XLT at a car lot. Selling price is $7995 and it has 125K miles on it. I am new to Ford products, especially their SUV line. I'm outgrowing cars, as I have a family now and have to haul kids and cargo. Is this alot of miles for these vehicles? The engine looked very clean, no oil leaks. Drove excellent. Interior spotless (no stains, cuts, etc. in fabric). No body dents, scratches. Is this price typical for such a nice vehicle? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

My .02 cents 8,000 bux seems a lil too high for a 98 with 125K miles on the clock, its hard to say wether its a good buy or not, it all matters on the details, it all matters if the SUV had frequent oil changes, tune ups, the tranny was maintained correctly. is it coming from a dealer or a used car shop? do a carfax check on it, or IM me your VIN and details and Il get it for you, include your e-mail addy.

Sorry I couldn't get the VIN last night, I get held up at work. I will attempt to get it today. What are some common maint. items that would need to be addressed if I were to buy it? (ie. timing belt/chain, diff fluid change, AT fluid/filter change, etc.)
