I have a new 2003 Lincoln Navigator. It has 4800 mile on it. I had just dropped off my wife and was backing into a parking place when the passenger air bag deployed.

I hit nothing, not even the curb. I was probably going less than 1 MPH, and I was going BACKWARD!

I am thankful my wife had already gotten out and I am thankful it was not the driver's airbag deploying while I was driving!

The car is being serviced now and I have asked Ford why it occurred and to assure me the drivers bag will not deploy unexpectedly.

I will keep you posted...

Sorry to hear, I know it's not funny but I cant help but laugh, would have liked to have seen the look on your face.

Hope they solve the prob though, make you a bit nervous otherwise.
