was going to replace but had to do belt yesterday...lol EGR code is up....i see it crystal clear behind throttle body. is this easy to change like drive belt? im thinking change egr and theres 2 other pieces. the sensor and another (forgot)which but look easy to replace. im LOOKING at that big nut behind egr on a thick aluminum line.....just loosen it i suppose. then i heard theres carbon or something you scrap out with a coat hanger before putting on the new egr ....just asking for insight in case anyones done this EGR replacement......txs people

You do loosen the Line to it first and then the valve itself. If there'sgunk in the hole, you can clean that but I haven't seen enough to worry about.

k...loosen line(behind egr,thick one). but when u say valve itself u mean take it off right. and what do i do....stick hanger inside holes to clear out any debress clocking it. the holes that go into throttle body im thinking...after valve is off. otherwise the correct way is REMOVING the entire throttle body with egr attached and clean everything (right way)which id rather not do.

I haven't seen any debris in the port from the EGR to worry about. I'd just replace it. Hae you checked to see if it works and that's why you're replacing it?

no...its badley rusted on outside of it. taking egr off replacing looks like easy job.BUT....im thinking ports on throttle body elbow where it mounts on,do those get clogged. cause if so sticking a hanger in there doesnt look/sound right cause theres a hard bent as soon as passage starts from egr gasket...both sides like a funnel,like a letter y. taking throtllebody out for egr is a complete clean and overhaul w/gaskets soaking few hours ect.....152,000 miles
