Blowing Plugs

Hi everybody - new here and hoping for some advice!

I have a 2003 Expedition Eddie Bauer with a 5.4 litre engine. Around 160k my wife pulled into the driveway with a horrible hammering noise coming from the engine. Turned out to be a blown plug. My mechanic said there was nothing wrong with the motor and simply installing a helix coil into the cylinder head would solve the problem. At almost 210k, has recently blown the helix coil again. I just picked it up from the mechanic again and it blew - again. This time he had tried a helix coil w/ JB weld.

I have put quite a bit into this vehicle over the last few months and am wondering what my options are at this point. Any suggestions other than replacing the motor or a NEW car?!

Thanks for taking the time to read this!
