Botched SUV launches costs
FORD EARNS $571 MILLION IN Q2
Botched launches are still continuing to plague the Ford Motor Company.
Allan Gilmour, Ford's returned CFO, says the launches of the new Ford Expedition
and the Lincoln Navigator have not gone smoothly and have hurt the company's
turnaround effort. The launch of the new Lincoln Aviator also has been
marred by glitches, Gilmour added Wednesday, as he presented the company's
financial results for the first time since returning to serve as the automaker's
chief financial officer. Ford turned in a $571 million profit in Q2, but expects
a small loss in Q3 and an overall profit in 2002.
