Re: Brake Problem on 1998 Expedition 4X4

Thanks Fonz and MM. I do not have a manual yet but I checked a 2002 manual and I assume that it is close to that. You guys know the best place to buy a replacement booster?

Thanks
ziv

Re: Brake Problem on 1998 Expedition 4X4

My friend had the same problem with his 98 expy after he installed 24"s...I do work on his truck...So I installed slotted rotors and carbon metallic pads all around and bled the entire system...and it still felt soft and almost spongy...He took it to the Ford dealer and they told him he would need the master cylinder...I knew that wasnt the problem because the previous owner had replaced it a year before...I know alot about mustangs and suspected since the expy is also ford, the flexible rubber lines that bolt to the caliper were shot....sure enough...having someone hit the brake I could see them expanding...we replaced them with stainless steel braided lines and that solved the problem. Hope this helps at least one of you
