Clunking Noise

I just purchased a `99 Expedition 4x4, 5.4 with 67,000 miles on it. When I go over speed bumps or other bumps at a slow rate of speed, I notice when the rear suspension comes off the bump, I hear one big clunk coming from the rear of the truck. I checked the spare tire and it is tight. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Re: Clunking Noise

A clunk sound? Those are never good. It could be the sprint retainers. Going over bumps could be reseating them.
