Does the 2010 Navigator parking/emergency brake have auto release ? (new owner here)

Just bought a 2010 navigator. I have owned a 2001 first generation since new. My old Navigator has a function where when I place the shifter in Drive or reverse, the parking brake releases automatically without me touching it. I just bought a 2010 navigator and it appears that I instead I have to manually release the parking brake and this automatic function does not exist anymore.

Is this correct ? or is there a way to program the parking brake to release by placing the car in drive or reverse ?

Thanks for any input.
