Just had engine rebuilt in 03 ford expedition. Has 1,000 miles on new engine. Husband noticed defroster air wasn't getting warm. Checked the coolant and it was empty. Checked oil , noticed under cap it was a creamy Carmel color. :( any advise? Was told by mechanic it just evaporated and I need to check it all the time and color under cap was condensation. Is this correct??
Coolant just doesn't evaporate . There either must be a leak in the cooling system or it was not correctly filled , bled or topped up . You should not need to continually check coolant level .You can get the emulsified oil in the cap through condensation but it can also signify head gasket leak , causing coolant loss .Get it checked out before any damage occurs .
