Engine runs rough wet it rains

I have a 98EB that runs rough when it rains. Seems like something in the engine is getting wet. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where the problem may be.

maybe also check if the distributor is getting wet. It would have to be something electrical.

Re: Engine runs rough wet it rains

well a couple easy thing to do are to get some die-electric grease and coat the inside of all the spark plug boots and dist ends and also check to see if there is any rusty particles inside the dist cap if so clean real good and relube with die grease. i am guessing that while the engine is warming it starts to draw moisture and then your spark is jumping through this moisture.
another thing to try is replace the wires totally if they are original wires.

of course,
i think they are tayler wires because i never got around to buyin a set of MSD wires.
but anywho they are 8mm high temp silicone jacketed pro stock wires. i have and MSD rotor and cap on the dist and had an MSD ignition also but something happened to it and i had to unhook it.

I believe they are the oroginal wires, so i'm gonna replace them.
Someone told me that after a while, the wire tend to wear out.

I've also heard of when changing wires to change O2 sensors at the same time. They wear away as well.

Re: Engine runs rough wet it rains

yea plug wires do detereorate over time and then start to loose spark quality due to loss in the wire or sparks jumping to one another or the block.
