Ford newbee... Looking for engine diagram

I'm searching for an answer for my next door neighbor who isn't very computer savvy. He's got a '98 Expedition XLT V8 and he's getting an intermitent ticking sound. He notices that it's only when he's in gear, whether idling or moving. We're going to try to pin-point where it's coming from but I'm not familiar with the Expedition and want to find a diagram for the engine compartment. Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Ford newbee... Looking for engine diagram

i would look at getting a chiltons. We can not post up diagrams due to copyright crap.

It could be one of a few things.

1. exhaust leak (would be present under loads aka in gear more so)
2. Blown gasket (w2ould be present whether under load or not)
3. RR that needs tightening
4. Cam shaft issues.

Determining which it is will be based on where you are hearing it. Whether it increases with revs. Knowing this will also help. Is it louder on one side of the truck or just as loud on both side?
