Heat problem on '97 (stuck on warm in front, fine in back, manual controls)
We have not been getting really hot air out of the front for a while now (I flushed but no difference) although the rear seems fine. But it alwasy goes cold when the temp is turned to cold.
However, two days ago it stopped getting cold when I turned the temp to cold. It is still not very hot, but since the weather is warming up, I need to get this fixed soon. One thing I noticed was that when the engine was running, the air was warm. But if I shut off the engine and then turned the ignition on and blower on (without starting the engine), the air was cold (while the rear was still hot). Is this vacuum or electrical (if electrical, how do I test (a particular voltage at a certain temp, etc.)? Regardless, what part would probably be bad, and how do I get to it (My Chilton's manual is almost useless, it doesn't describe how the system works so I don't know what to look for, and the instructions on getting to the blend door or the control unit is pitiful).
Thanks in advance.
