I have a 2003 Expedition with the 4.6.L engine. Recently I received a “Hi temp/ low oil” warning light. The owners manual tell me to chech my engine coolant for the hi temp warning, and check the oil level for the low oil. I checked both the engine oil and coolant for proper levels… all are good. I have about 65,000 original miles. Has anyone out there seen this problem before… any suggestions. Thank you
I don't really like idiot lights, but I guess they are ok. You could put in a mechanical gauge for the oil pressure. A decent shop will have a tool to read the temp. to see if it is within specs. They just point it at different places on the engine and can read the temps. They can even tell if the t-stat. opens at the proper temp. Good luck.
