Does anyone know how to remove the cover off the airbag.
Or is it one entire piece?

Re: how to remove drivers side airbag on 2000 Expedition

The airbag cover can be cut off. However, be sure that the vehicles battery has been disconnected and any power left in the vehicle has been drained out, as it doesn't take much to set off a bag no matter how careful you can be. The bags are generally square, compacted units that have a cord at the back. If you get it out without any damage, you could easily sell it for a few hundred bucks (new ones cost around $1000/ea!). Just make sure it's not against your insurance policy to modify the safety features on your vehicle, or your policy may become null & void should the occasion arise.
