Vibration under hood?
The wife and I just got a 2001 expedition to haul around our new baby and so far we love it. It has a 5.4 engine. However, we did discover one problem. Here it is. There is a device located under the hood right in front of the washer fluid reservoir that vibrates loudly on occasion. It looks like some kind of compressor, but Im not sure. Any idea what this is and what it's for? Is it hard to fix? Thank you very much.

Glad you enjoy your 2001 Expedition. . .I love mine also. The vibration you are hearing is coming from the Compressor that lifts the air suspension in the back. It levels your SUV! Happy Motoring
