i am trying to reset entry code. i go to press the factory code in and the instructions say that as soon as you push a button the keypad should light up. it does not. does anyone have a solution? i do not have the manual. i am only going by the instuctions from the web. enter code and press 1/2 withing five seconds.......

I see that no one else has replied, so I'll give you what I know. My wife's last 3 Fords have had the keypad as does yours. All three of them DO light up when a number is pushed. If this is not happening, I'd check to see if power is getting to the keypad, or if the previous person added an alarm or remote-starter that may bypass this keypad. Hope this helps...

That is how to test a keypad at a dealership. You press a button and see it light up. Wait for it to go out and press the next button. If it does not light up on all buttons, the 90% of the time, it will need a new keypad.
