2006 Navigator.
Is it ok to hook up the battery charger to the battery while the kids run the DVD player for a few hours? This won’t screw something up will it? Should I use the 2 Amp or 6 Amp charge setting?

That won't hurt it at all. I'd use the 6amp since it will be drawing on it at the same time. At home without anything turned on, I've charged them at 6amps overnight.

Gotta love SUV camping! 6amp will do fine. The battery will last upwards of two hours depending on what the reserve capacity is, and what the player needs in terms of juice.

...I'm all set myself for the wife and I when we go away for the weekend. I tape screen over the two back windows so I can keep them down a bit and keep the bugs out! I cut a foam mattress topper to go in the back to act as underlay for the sleeping bags. Nice.
