nav, expediton with bling, bling?

If I understand this right ford and lincoln are the same company. Do the expedition and the navigator come off the same assembly line? Is a navigator an expedition with bling, bling? Are all the components the same, just the finishing touches different? Is Lincoln a seperate branch of ford with its own management team and assembly plant? We just bought a 2004 Navigator and my wife had no clue it was a some how attached to ford. She said if she had known that she would not have bought it.

Re: nav, expediton with bling, bling?

The Expedition and the Navigator are both built at the Wayne, Michigan Truck Plant. The Nav and Expy do share some components but the Nav has much more than a few cosmetic differences. Lincoln is a division of Ford, but they have a much higher standard in quality control, fit, and finish. Lincoln builds a very fine product. It's generally compared to Caddilac and other upper end products as far as quality of build.

Re: nav, expediton with bling, bling?

Scary to think this is Ford's best. I bought my 2004 Navigator on July 4. Within 2 weeks the drivers seat would no longer adjust, the rear window would not lock and the dealer wrecked it. Out of the first 21 days with the vehicle it was in the service dept or at the service dept 9 days. I have had the vehicle 4 straight days without a break down, holding my breath here.
