Hi! I have a 2000 Navigator, and the lights inside (recessed front center and sides), as well as the running board lights, will not turn off. I tried opening and closing all doors, and there is no door ajar warning light appearing. I also turned off the car, and the headlight switch to no avail. Please help! I live rurally and do not want my battery to die! Thanks :)

Sounds like the interior light switch/dimmer switch.

i'm having the same issue (sorta) on my 03 nav,...
the dash indicates the tailgate is ajar,(it is closed completely) and if i don't turn
off my dimmer switch, all the welcome lights stay on once the key is out...
any guesses? bad tailgate switch?

Had the same problem with my 03 Expedition found that i had two door sensor switch sticking when it was cold, my advice is to take apart the door jam and clean & reinstall " dont use White Grease " it gums up in the cold weather
