I have a 2005 expedition, i am notiving oil drops on my drive way, i took it to the dealership they told me it would cost $1200 to fix, cox my oil pan is above the entire transmission. Is this correct? and does it really cost this much to replace a gasket on an oilpan? Please help. Thank oyu
The book shows 2.6 hrs labor for a 4 wheel drive. Are you sure they said oil pan gasket and not rear main seal? The main seal could easily run $1200. It's all labor.

I just looked at the work order, it states "r & R transmisssion, replace rear main seal & oil pan gasket", So i take it this is correct? but the oil is leaking from the front of the car, so i am confused as far as "rear main seal" Thank you for taking the time to respond.
