A head gasket will show coolant not oil. I suspect you have a valve cover gasket that is weeping. Have you ever noticed oil in your plug wells?

Re: passenger side oil leak..??

The 4.6 had a problem where somechips had gotten between the block, gasket and cylinder head. They'd leak oil at the rear passenger side corner. They didn't leak very bad but did leave drips.

Re: passenger side oil leak..??

to be honest... the leak looks like its from the passenger side rear ... first it looked like it was a rear main seal leak.. but upon further inspection, the mechanic said the leak was up in the engine bay... i was really worried it might be head gasket leak...

It is probably the oil filter adapter housing gasket if it is coming from that area.

The oil filter is on the drivers side.
