Power Steering Pump - How much to replace

Hi all -

Seems we might have a leak in our power steering pump ('99 Nav). Anyone have an idea how much it should cost to replace at a dealer? Just want to make sure I'm not getting you-know-what!!

Thanks.

Re: Power Steering Pump - How much to replace

OK, I just changed the power steering pump on our 98 Expedition about 18 months back (it was leaking around the shaft seal). I replaced the pump myself and the pump alone was just under $100 at NAPA. It was a rebuilt unit and has given no trouble.

Having this work done at the dealership would probably cost somewhere around $250. At least that is what I would expect the charges to be ........ I guess it could be more!

Thanks for the info! I'm in central New Jersey, so they charged a bit more than that... but not too much more so guess I must be dealing with an honest dealership for a change!
