mad Sirius Radio Fiasco

Sirius Radio Fiasco

I posted early about finding a Ford Hotline. Here’s the background for the question. And yes, this is me whining about Ford’s service.

I have a 2008 Ford King Ranch Expedition EL equipped with Sirius radio. Back in the beginning of May, the Sirius radio just stopped working. Sirius did some diagnostics an determined, in their opinion, that the unit was bad. We brought the truck to the dealership where we purchased it to have the radio fixed. 7+ weeks later we have just been told that the part is delayed… AGAIN. We were told the part “may” ship in the next to 12-15 days. If it doesn’t, the dealer said they would call with a new date.

That translates to almost 3 months we have been without the Sirius feature, just about half the free trial. That also means we will be without Sirius for a good part of the summer, a time when we use a truck the most.

How can any kind of part in this day and age take months to order? It’s not like Sirius is something that’s been out of use for years, so parts aren’t available. Gee, I can get parts for my 62 Chevy in a couple of days… including radio components..

OK, complaining is over.. It’s off my chest… now back to your regular programming.

Re: Sirius Radio Fiasco

Don't feel bad, on my 2008 focus they put the antenna but no radio. makes a lot of sense to clutter up the roof with it/ wrote a nice long letter to Ford customer service today.
